On June 23, 2016, Rainelle, West Virginia experienced a historic and devastating flood. Many homes and businesses were destroyed. Also included in the devastation was Rainelle’s Public Library. All the books were lost, and the building needs significant repairs and may even need to be completely rebuilt. In a small town with many low-income citizens, a public library is crucial. They provide a place for citizens to go for entertainment and leisure as well as a location where students are able to work on assignments for school.
